When picking out a bass combo it always feels like you're forced to choose between the one with all of the force and depth, and the one you can actually carry. Here, Gallien-Krueger offers everything tied up in one neat package. The MB115 manages to load in a 15 inch speaker while keeping things tight enough to comfortably carry around. In fact, this combo weighs in at just 18 kilos - all thanks to the Class D digital power amp section. Coupled with the detailed and intuitive four-band EQ controls, this amplifier gives you all the tonal range and depth and all of the convenience.

The Gallien-Krueger MB115-II: Boost + HF Horn

Unlike its smaller contemporaries, the MB115 has been kitted out with an HF horn tweeter. Activate it for improved treble response or simply switch it off and bypass it as preferred. Based on Gallien-Krueger's innovative G.I.V.E. technology (Gate Induced Valve Effect), this amp also comes with a boost function so you can gain some extra thrust whenever needed, while the integrated limiter is yet another welcome addition for preventing power amp distortion at higher volumes.

The Companion Combo

Thinking of everything, the Gallien-Krueger MB115 combo also comes fitted with an AUX input for hooking up an audio player so you can train your skills with the help of backing tracks, while the headphone output supports late-night solo jamming sessions. An XLR DI output complete with pre/post EQ switch has also been supplied and, around the back, the Chain output can used for linking up a Gallien-Krueger MBP powered cabinet (not included) and expanding the rig.
